I know this is an old 23 channel (yes Bruce, i know what you are gonna say....) rig but are they any good? I saw one at a yard sale with a desk mike and the radio and the mike were both in great cond and working to boot! I have always been told the old johsnons were real talkers on AM. Didnt they use an internal voice compressor of sort to get louder audio? |

They DO NOT HAVE ANY compression but REMEMBER what i said some VERY nice radios LIKE THIS ONE got tossed out with the junk ! Hoosier if i remember right that set is a crystal plexer so adding channles would be costly. Now if you want to ADD a prosser www.tentec.com sells a board for about 20 bucks ...... Ok hoosier just so you dont think im slipping IT'S A ILLEAGAL 23 CHANNEL SET !!!!! Wow got that out of my system! bruce |

Johnson's used plate modulation on the tube types, but i'm not sure about the solid state radios. |

plate and choke were the 2 common ways both work as for solid state colector modulation was standard |
