If you want to use your amp while talking to someone while they are fading away, is there a warm up time, or can you just turn it on and start talking, I know you have to warm up a tube type, as soon as I plug mine in the fan comes on, then you have to turn on the amp,

please advise thank you

No warm up time, at all. Hit the button, you're ready to go.

2600 thank you for your answer , I have wondered about that for some time, I really hardly ever use it but now I know, I bought it six months ago,

buy the way I use to live in Paducah ky, when I was a kid, is that near you ? I have one other amp, it is a large tube type, I got it at a garage sale,It saids D.C. Millampears, D.J. Electronics, it has AM, SSB, REC AMP, HI, LOW, , ON OFF SWITCH, HI, LOW, , DRIVE , PLATE, LOAD, , AND A meter FROM 1 to 10 I pluged it in, the pre amp is good, the fam works, but if you key down, the needle doesn't move. I don't know how many watts it is, it is old but clean, gray in color.ALL THE TUBES LIGHT UP, what do you think is the matter,/

THANK YOU AGAIN

Wow, DJ Electronics? I don't think they made amplifiers for too long. It has to be more than 25 years old. Can't find anything about it in my library. If it has any 'miles' on it, the price of a "25-year tuneup" might look unattractive, figuring maybe tubes, a relay or two, filter capacitors (not really meant to last 25 years) and labor. Sounds a lot like finding a 25-year old classic car under a tarp in a barn. It'll take more than a trip to the "Quick Tune" shop before it takes you to work every day.

2600 Yes it is a very old amp, and you are right there would be a very large cost involved in finding out what is wrong, maybe I can sell it to my Mother in Law ?
