I'm considering a 2950DX as my first radio. From what I've read it seems pretty well built and reliable. How about ease of use? Any thoughts on this radio for a rookie just starting out? Is there another in same price range that would be a better choice? Thanks for the feedback. |

Markr I had several 2950's there is realy nothing wrong with this radio. There is a bunch of them out there you can get parts lots of mods can be made. It makes a decent entry level ham radio too Other good buys are mag 257 from copper for $170 Some dont like the way its tunes but HOT reciver. One more neet radio and there getting hard to find the titan 485 for around 100 bucks too bad copper dosnt sell them. Bruce |

Markr I do not own a 2950 DX but I can help you by saying I have heard many of them talking on the air, and they sound pretty good, some of the other men out there will have to help you with the inside of the radio,it has just enought watts to get out there, and it will not need a fan, but in my small way I can say I almost bought one, but I will wait until my Cobra 148 GTL stops running, and them I will join you in the purchase of one. |

2950DX is very easy to use and they talk great, the receive is a little noisey . Next choice but harder to run Delta Force or 257. |
