The facts are longer is better a 8 foot will work better that a 4 foot but 2 4 foot are going to be real close

You would be happier with the Wilson 1000 or 5000.

619,

I would suggest the WILSON 1000, One of the best performing all around antennas you can find. Good Range on Transmit and Receive.

Unless you are going to be running over a 1000 watts no need to spend the extra money for the 5000.

Just my Thought's.

I was running a LIL'Wil on the top of my car for a while, seemed to work great. Then I mounted a Wilson 1000 trunk mount and it blew the doors off the LIL'Wil. The 1000 has much better Gain.

619 the wilson 1000!!
I have a RCI 2950 DX astatic power mic and a wilson 1000 on the trunk mount works great on the DX mode.

the mag mount will be at least 1 s unit weaker with the same ant that why even of 440 i stoped using them it would be interesting to see both antennas in the same mount ... now my 50 inch is 1 s unit weaker than my 78 inch in the same mount with out moving the car ant the 102 inch a little better that the 78 all screw into the 3/8 inch trunk lip so they are all being measured the same way o my 50 inch antenna was mag mount on the same spot as the trunk lip before i installed that mount it was down on 29.6 mhz almost 2 s units
