I have an old Yaesu ft-7 hf mobile. It puts out about 20 watts on sideband on 80-10 meters. And only running 20 watts on 3.913 makes it very hard to get over the noise level, which is always between s7 and s9. So I am curious what bands the klv base amps will work on. Will they only work illegaly on 11meters and 10meters or can they be used on the normal hf ham bands, which would be perfectly legal. |

you would have to do some work on the output tuning section to get any output down there. You would be better off to find an older Heathkit or maybe even an old Phantom sweep tube amp with the tuning already set up for that. The KLV is a decent amp, but fairly lightweight in construction, and would not lend itself to much modification. It works great for what it was designed. |

The KLV-2000 will cover all HF bands 160 - 10 and 11 meters as well. |

All the KLV amps only work on 26-30 MHZ except the KLV-2000 which is 10-80 Meter. |
