help, i'm wondering what would be a good low -cost amp to buy to use along with my 99 . this would be used as a base application when not in my daycab big truck. i have a shakespeare super bigstick on my 2 story house which probably will need to be replaced as its 25 yrs. old. i guess i would need some ideas on antennas also. also what size power supply would be needed to run the radio with the amp.don't have a big budget to work with but really interested in talking skip. i guess you could say i'm looking for some beginner equip.thanks for the help!!! |

Well Im not sure if they are still on sale but I bought a 25amp power supply at radio shack for $60. It works great for me. It should run the radio and a small amp. I will also highly recommend the Imax-2000 antenna....I have one and it works great for me. For me it was a great improvement over my super bigstick. Just my 2 cents worth Buck |

Bang-4-buck: KL203, 25a supply, Imax99, good grade coax (at least RG8/213). About $225-250 gets you a base setup and a good 125w.

Fordtruckluvr,I have a Silver Eagle 200 that I have used off and on for about five yrs on my 99 and just bought a Silver Eagle 350 about two weeks ago that does very well. The 200 is great for dx,lots of good clean audio but the 350 has quite a bit more power. |
