I was just wondering if anyone recalls an antenna called "sky-kicker" made by Turner ? It was an omni directional ,5/8 wave desighn ,but was a bit strange. The vertical element was only about 12 feet tall, it had 3 radials 6 or 7 feet in length. The radials wher at about a 45 degree angle and wher electrically conected to the vertical element. Along side the vertical element there was a shorter element that was about 4 feet in lenth, also electrically connected to the rest of the antenna -I think ,it ran parralel to the vertical element. The coax connection was a small piece that connected the short vertical element to the taller vertical element. The match was achieved by sliding the small piece up or down changing the feed-point. What kind of antenna desighn was the SKY-KICKER ? have a good day!

What standard did they use to get these numbers?

GAIN:
HORIZONTAL - 5.25 DB ( X3.5 )
VERTICAL - 4.75 DB ( X2.75 )
MULTIPLICATION FACTOR: 12X ( ? )
HORIZONTAL - 17X ( ???? WHAT ????? )
VERTICAL - 15X ( ? MORE WHAT ? )
HORZ. TO VERT. SEPARATION: 20-25 DB
POWER RATING: 2000 CW.
WEIGHT: 10.0 lbs.
HEIGHT: 11 feet

THIS is why i make fun of them these numbers are LIES this is realy sad since most cb'ers go by what the seller tells them. Too bad there is no standard to hold antenna makers too. I still say my copper skylab has more audio gain that any jogunn!

Jo Gunn is a joke.. They lie and get nasty to you over the phone if you ask them if they base thier claims over an isotropic source!! At least they did it to me! A wet piece of spaghetti has more audio gain then any antennas they make.....
