I personally dont like them. They have high SWR in them and give a false meter reading. However it seems to run ok if you disconnect the variable and SWR goes to normal?

I have a Palomar 775V and I have no problem with the SWRs whatsoever. I would rather have the 900 but if it's anything like the 775 it's a gem on SSB.

I have the palomar 900 elite,it is 2 1446s driving 4 2879s,I have no problem with swr.works very well on am, however relay keeps going in and out on ssb.I also have a palomar 300 elite, this one works very well on am or ssb driven with the same rci 2970dx power level turned down all the way(5 watt).I am told a resistor in the amp needs replaced with a different value,or the vox adjusted on the radio would correct ssb problem.
