From what I have read both the 900V and 775V have had some problems. They also do not like or require alot of drive.

I have a 775V. I have noticed that at different dead key output levels the SWR with the amp on varies
from flat to 4-1. I was told that harmonics were responsible for the high match at lower power levels. If my swr was 4-1....the way I hammer on the amp for hours on ssb it would be toast.
I give the amp a thumbs up for clean audio on AM and SSB. I drive mine with a low AM swing Cobra 148 with 17 watt ssb.

I have had the 775V and the 900V. Both had high SWR problems. Once I unhooked the variable the SWR was fine and seemed to do a reasonable amount of wattage. Really seemed to be a good amp once I unhooked the variable.

No built in fan. No remote jack. Can't be volted. No real waranty. With less money I would have gotten all these added features and can squash the that palomar like a bug anytime.
