I have used the99V in my car since Jan of this year and like the radio very muck it replaced a SS3900 which was also a good radio. Out put is 2to10 watts on AM with 100% modulation and 22 watts on SSB. The 99V has a first class reciever for an Export 10 meter radio. I have talked all over the world with this radio the first part of this year on 10 meters on SSB on 20 watts or less.
I also use another 99V as a base radio and its output is a little higher but have had great results with it as well, It replaced a TR296FG the 296 was a great radio as well but the 99V has so menie bells and wisles i just had to have one. The feature i like best is the big acturet meter, i use an RK56 mike which works real good with the ecco. It was very hard to find a radio that i liked better than the TR296FG.

Excellent radio Walterb.I'm partial to to my 99's although I still haven't lost affection for my Connex. If my son hadn't taken over my Voyage VR 9000 I would for sure be talking on it daily also.So much fine radio gear available-so little time to talk on it.

I have a dx99v as well as a connex and I am very pleased with them both I run them both with an astatic 575 and they sound great. I'm thinking about buying a voyage vr 9000 to add to my collection since I've been reading so many good things about them on CEF.

Snowman 787 :I have been very impressed with the Voyage 9000.Their is one thing you need to know before you invest your money , the 9000 doesn't have a mike gain feature which could give you a problem if you like to run power mikes. If I didn't already know I would think my son was running a power mike. This radio peaked & tuned is loud and proud with the stock mike.As I have said before I don't use power mikes on any of my radios.I like for the person I'm talking with to here my voice without tire whine, engine noise ,and the like.Different strokes for different folks.

Just to let you know ,I am a ranger dealer and I have had 3 6300fhp's brought in and I can not get them to peak up no where near the 2950 or the 6900 no mater what I do. It has the 10B board in it and just doesnt do the job. I sent mine back and got the 6900 for a few bucks more. The only downfall on the 6900 is you can not control the echo from the front of radio like the 6300
