Does anyone know the specs on the mic that comes with the General Lee radio? Is it a power mic? does it require a 9v battery? Why is it heavier than other mics?

CBBlackbeard, if you open up the mike, you will see a "weight" that is screwed in. They use this from a marketing ploy to make you think this is a "heavy duty" mike. Is is nothing but a paperweight! It does not use a 9 volt battery. If you are going to use a General Lee, spend the money and get a Road King Mike and do it right. NO battery necessary either.

Cbblackbeard, Turner Corporation makes them. They are lightweight and easy to hold. Buy the one that has the lightweight cord, not the heavy cord one, as it tends to break. I have heard that from so many people that drive trucks. The raod king is expensive, but the same old story - you get what you pay for. However, it is like the rule for the antenna - buy a cheap antenna and get cheap results, buy a great antenna and get great results! Same as with the mike.
The Road KIng 56 is what to get. If you run a radio with echo on your current radio, then this is the best mike.
I recently found a brand new Uniden PC 76 XLW in a cb shop in Alabama. I took it to my tech guy for peak n tune, but had him also install the connex board. As usual, I got the lecture about use a road king versus what I have used for years. He showed me on the screen the difference between using one of them versus what I was going to use on the radio. Plus, when you listen, you can HEAR the difference as well. It is called Nice and Clear, not muffled. Hope this helps.

Thanks Keith. I don't mind spending a little extra money if I get good results. I will definitely check out the Road King 56.

I was told a " Road king" with an adjustable
volume / tone control work well on the new
Lincoln. But I haven't found this type of
road king on most of the electronic sites.
Any one know where they can be found???
