This radio is AWESOME!!!!! It swings like crazy without the golden screwdriver, with the golden screwdriver it can swing from 2 watts to 200 watts & the audio is Oh So Loud! Get one! It's A Linear with A Radio Built In! |

But how does the audio from a SSB signal compare to a RCI 2970? Better, not as good? what? |

The 95T is the loudest radio I have ever owned. I get nothing but flowers. This radio blows major smoke. I highly recomend it. |

So far I have heard 3 95T and all three sounded distorted with toooo much modulation. So far I haven't heard a good sounding one yet, but iv'e only heard three. cef 294 |

If you use a power mike turn the mike gain on the radio up and just crack the gain on the mike. Thats way people sometimes sound distorted on this radio. |

I have the 93T, it is important to have these radios peak and tuned properly. I have used this radio stock and with a good peak and tune. The audio is so loud that it is important to get the mic gain set right for the best sound as Intruder mentioned. The radio will distort if the mic gain is up all the way with the stock mic much less a power mic. On my Uniden Grant and 68 Elite I can keep the mic gain at max all the time and the radios sound great.

The power in the 95T turned up all the way and a mike like hand held D-104 M6 can just make for a lot of high pitch squealing. I was set up with a Turner 56 Noise canceler for the big road and high cab noise and an Astatic 575 with tone control and peopel come to me to let me know how much smoke I blow. You can't just turn everything in sight up all the way but know your radio, antenna and mike and you are all set.I will try other radios but nothing will make the 95T go away, nothing. |

I run one of those CDL noise cancelling mikes and still have to run my mic gain on the 95T around 1:00. I am told I am a rolling base. I have talked over 100 miles straight waves (to someone on a high beam of course) but not every mobile can do that. Some mobiles can't talk 30 miles to such a station. I don't see how you can do any better than a 95T for the radio alone and blow such smoke, and aside from white noise, I've learned the ears are very good because I no longer require a pre-amp. resurecting an old post.......Hey guys, I just bought a Galaxy 93T with tuneup.Should be coming in next week sometime.....Was wondering how the performance is on her......I'm sure it's a good AM talker like some of the older Galaxy lines, but I'm a SSB talker....How's the clarity and drift on these bad boys.......Also I like the sound of the 2SC2290 pill in her.....What kind of wattage are we talking on SSB.....I plan on running either a Turner Super Side kick or a Silver Eagle on it........What have you guys played with as far as mics to have it sound good and loud......I usually run my D-104's turned all the way down and just cracked about 1/8"....Seems to have more bottom end with no background noise, you know kids, dog, wife.........LOL.....Any input would be appreciated.....Thanks all |

Well guys, I got my radio other day........Wired in a Turner CS-1 custom desk mic......I'm impressed. I lot different from my old Galaxy 88HL.......Great modulation. Great swing....SSB seems to be pretty stable once radio is all warmed up and running for a while. I still would like to see a variable wattage knob, instead of a low, med and high switch......... Appearance is real nice with the luminated face.......Haven't DX'd yet with her, hopefully conditions will be in this weekend........Just my 2cts guys.......73's |
