Hey,

Who has all tried one of these? Are they really better in both receive and transmit than the Magnum Delta Force?

How does this radio compare to other radios you have tried??

Just let me know,

Cowboy

I got an Omega Force last October and put it in my truck & im running it barefoot with a 102" whip. Everyone that hears it wants to know what kind of radio & box im talking on. (with the modulator on it does 1.5 watts to 40 watts) They think im lying when I tell them it's barefoot. The stock power mic is powered by the radio, it is lightweight, small and the channel changer on the front of the mic is a rocker style switch (it's easy to bump the switch and end up on the wrong channel) but still, for a stock power mic it's very good. The radio really has awesome audio and a super sensitive receive (sometimes too sensitive) as it suffers from front end overload when someone with power is keying up nearby a few channels away. It works excellent on all modes, the receive on SSB is very clear, as is FM, and AM. The FM “RF Power” is fully adjustable all the way to the full 40 watts. The "All Mode Talkback" or AMT is loud, clear, and powerful, it’s very easy to turn the AMT up to high and get feedback. (They should back it down a bit at the factory) The turbo echo is yet again the cleanest and clearest I have ever heard and combined with AMT lets you hear just how “LOUD” this radio really is. Magnum has done a very good job designing this radio. There are a couple of things they need to do, one is to tighten up the receive to prevent bleed over from other channels, and the other is to put heavy duty pots on all the controls on the front of the radio, they feel kind of cheap and seem easy to break. The printed circuit board has no identifiable markings on it whatsoever, the second batch is supposed to have marked pcb's. Other than that, it's a fantastic radio and definitely a keeper. Hope this helps. 73's
