Ho,Ho,Ho,What a Merry Christmas this morning.A few minutes ago one of my working partners handed me a large box which contained a Cobra 142 GTL radio with owners manual ,in original Dynascan Corporation box.Said he was cleaning out his attic and thought I might like to have it.I haven't been on the radio for a few weeks but I will have to fire up this old girl and see how she talks. |

I have one. Actually its my brothers. Im just borrowing it until I get to open my new Washinton on Christmas. The 142GTL is a fine fine radio. This one is modified and tuned up. I hope my Washington can be as nice a radio as the 142GTL. |

Well I've only been on the radio once in the last two weeks and that was to try out the 142 GTL.The rest of my gear is collecting dust as will the 142. |

The 139XLR came out in late 1977 and the 142GTL came out around 1982 or so ... The 142 GTL has the 8719 PLL and the 139XLR has the good old 858 PLL.. |
