I don't have a meter that reads pep on sideband can I convert the readings I am getting to get an approximate reading of pep.

I don't know about any formulas, but on my meter it's "about" double... 125W AVG will read 250W PEP.

1.414 x rms = peak
1.414 x peak = pep

i think i read that some where..

invest in a bird 43-p there nice for good readings
you can get a good used one really resonable.

Got myself a Yaesu YS60 a few month's ago and that give's me a good indication as to what PEP watt's are going up the stick.
