M103C--great antenna. Simple, not too big, great performance.

My Moonraker IV is still kicking after all these years. Also had a PDL way back when and it's size to proformance ratio is tough to beat.

I like my Moonraker 4 but my favorite would be stacked 6 element hornets.

Without a doubt my Moonraker IV. Bought it way back in 1977 and still going strong. Best antenna I ever had.

Does anyone know the phisical specs on a 3 element Shakespeare beam? I need the element lengths, spacing and the matching harness specs. The harness I have is for a four element I think. (72 inches) Thanks PS: This is not my favorite.

My favour is my homemade 5over5 optimized yagis.
Rock solid since 1994. Still good swr and no damage even on very heavy wind. Boom 60mm 6.8 meter long, elements 30/25/20mm. I don`t want another carppy shop one. Mike

Original Avanti Moonraker 4s made in 1974... Got them used in 1996 and have had em up since 1997 and up until now no problems.. Wire busted from a severe thunderstorm in the spring of the year but that can be fixed very easily. Best beams ive ever had IMHO..
My other fave is the Avanti astrobeams. I have a set in the box -vintage 1975- that are pretty much new. I took them out of the box in 2002 and put them together to see if they worked alright. Took them apart and they sit in the box awaiting another day!!

Local Omni....HyGain Penetrator 5/8 wave
Local & DX Antenna Specialist Super Scanner
DX... Any 4 ele Quad beam; Avanti Moonraker 4

Even if both antennas are horizontally polarized, when you skip, the signal polarization twists and a Quad will be better than either a Vertical or Horizontal beam alone.
---------------------------------
If you speak to one location over a long GROUND wave distance, then a horizontal antenna will out perform a vertical. As long as both antennas are horizontally polarized. Less noise
-----------------------------------
Box type refectors at the rear element of the beam will improve front to back rejection considerably

Mosley 4 element. Have owned two of them. Great horizontal or verticle. They don't advertise anymore, they are big into Military antennas now.

only 2 beams i ever had were a maco comet that got modified by an ice storm in the late 70's and the 3 element quad i rebuilt it as...the year before maco came out with the comet.
always wanted a moonraker 6, but mom always said 'not on my house you don't.wait til you get your own house.' have had my own house for nearly 20 yrs-NO BEAM! since they don't make moonraker 6's anymore, my dream would be to stack a pair of 40' laser 500's! i could keep my 1kw amp on medium power then, huh?!
have to wait til i retire and move to the country though, if i tried stacking 2-40' quads, they'd hit the neighbors house on all 4 sides if i tried to turn 'em!

MOSLEY ! Great Antennas !

I used a DI-6 from 1966-2000 and the ONLY reason im not using it is the decay prevented me from restoring it ...... IT STILL WORKS ...... and now you know why they build military ones !
