When comparing antenna prices, higher price "DOES NOT" necessarily mean more or better.
Personally, I would opt for a Sigma 5/8 or a I-Max 2K. I pretty much favor the I-Max 2K because of its simplicity in assembling, its .64 wavelength, its physical length of 24 feet and its massive power handling capabilities. It also does not present itself as much of a lightning rod as aluminum antennas do. And lets not forget the fact that the I-Max will out-broadband (3+ MHz) "ANY" antenna on the market. These are great antennas for multiband (10 Meter) radios.
The two that you mentioned will also serve your purposes. Also bare in mind that the above statements are just my personal opinions and over 35 years of experience.
Check back here often because I'm sure you will be getting many, many other opinions.

I-10k, hard to beat this Antenna.
But, like Tech 548 said, Imax 2000 is very broadbanded,simple to put together, 1:1 SWR
right out of the box...
Guess it depends on what you want & how simple of a antenna you want & how much money your willing to spend. Good Luck with whatever you decide! |

I just read an review on the I-Max 2000 at *****.com. The reviewer was saying that he uses his I-Max for 10-40 meters with an antenna tuner, and that it is very usable 10-15 meters without the use of an antenna tuner. With a near flat SWR on 15 meters saying that he believed it acts as a 1/2 wave at 15 meters.
By the way on 11 meters it covers the regular 40 with a very near flat SWR of 1.1.1 or so, and easily covers the funnies both above and below 40 with an exceptionally low SWR if that's what you want to do.
On another note a 5/8ths wave antenna has about 3db gain no matter how much you spend on it.
