what is the color code for wiring this mic tothis radio not useing up or down buttons ???

Sorry but I do not know the Color Code / Factory Color of wires of the Shure 444 mic.

Capt_hook,
the sure 444 is;
white=audio=pin 2
shield=ground=pin1
red=ptt=pin3
black=rec=pin4
if the 2985 will not receive without the mic pluged in then open the bottom and solder a jumper to ground from pin#4 of the switch.set the vox switch to norn and imp switch to lo.

thanks dindin i may put it up for sale (444) it s like new can you tell me the color code for the stock mic as well i have the mic and pin but not connected Ron

Ron,
couldnt find the colorcode but the pin functions are;
pin1=Shield
pin2=Audio
pin3=Transmit
pin4=Receive
pin5=Channel Up
pin6=Channel Down
