I think Bruce will be pleased to hear this, I'm thinking of making my next radio a President Lincoln but don't know a lot about them so here are some questions for you Lincoln owners. Can frequency coverage be expanded below 10 meters and if so what coverage are you using. What are the tuning steps 5khz or 10khz. What sort of mic connector and how many pins. Thanks Murray |

Oldpirate, My Style Lincoln from COPPER covers from 26.000 to 29,990 now with just the Minor Channel Conversion as I have not done the Chip Switch Modification to it as yet. After doing the Chip Switch Modification it will cover from around 24.000 to 29.999 The Mic Plug is a Standard 5 Pin Plug. #1 ~ AUDIO #2 ~ SHIELD #3 ~ TRANSMIT #4 ~ CHANNEL #5 ~ CHANNEL No 5k or 10K Buttons or steps here as you can tune exactly where you want to go. Thanks Lon, I didn't realise Copper were selling them. Did they do the channel mod or did you do it yourself. Was looking at a 2950dx but everyone says Lincoln, can you remeber what the price was and did they do a tune for you? Thanks Murray |

Hi Oldpirate! The Lincoln is an "old" model with "some" variations during the years. The "open frequency mod" is easy, but you should be able to understand circuit layouts and schematic diagrams and to have some experience in soldering... That should be the easy section - the other problem: the Lincoln is a 10m radio - if you want to use it mainly on 11m it would be better, to "re-tune" the RX section to this frequency range. As a usual "user" does not have the required equipment, it would be better to leave this work at your dealer. I guess, copper can handle this - just ask THEM and not us :-) 73 to you and @all from Germany ... Andreas 13PY02 |
