Got this radio a few weeks ago, and I love it! Similar to a Magnum S-9 but puts out more power and does not use surface mount technology. That can be a big plus when things go wrong. It has great audio, recieves almost as good as my Cobra 2000GTL, and has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. You don't need a amp with this rig as it will do up to 120+ watts AM and up to 200 SSB when properly peaked. If you are a lunatic you could drive a BIG amp with this rig. Also has a built-in automatic SWR calibration that eliminates another piece of equipment that you might use in-line before your antenna. I found the echo as set from the factory to be just right, with enough to give your audio some nice punch. One small complaint, is that is does tend to drift abit, similar to other Galaxy Radios. However it isn't too terrible that it would be annoying. In comparing this to the Magnum S-9..it is close, however I do give the edge to the Galaxy DX95T in Power output + Build design. The Magnum S-9 does not drift however. Both radios have nice Audio punch. |

i always remember galaxy radios as having hashy-trashy loud white noise receivers. could hear things without straining the ole ear muscles on my grants, (not to mention my ar3500) that wouldn't even appear on the galaxy. just curious if anyone else out there can backup gonzo's statement that the 95t's receive is almost as good as the cobra 2000. or how it may compare to a magnum, or grant xl. if the audio is all galaxy, then there's no problem there, it's just the receiver section that always turned me off to galaxies. |

relax bc, my S9 AIN'T going nowhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remember we once discussed "toys"? if it fits my requirements of an acceptable piece of equipment, it could find its way into my toybox. having so much fun with my S9 in the shack, i STILL haven't put it in the mobile yet! i've got several different amps lined up for it(mobile), but just can't get it into the truck! see my post on the M-1 review, if magnum would just answer my prayers then we could get the ball rolling here. i'll get my S9 in the mobile yet! just watch me!!!!!!!!! how's the freq/clarifier doing on yours? mine seems to be where it was when i got it.... |

PERIOD the Galaxy is a good radio and Galaxy has a piece of my heart I will always love them. But just as you may still love your high school sweetheart but there is a new love in your life that is far stronger and far better than any before, so is the galaxy radio. Wow I'm like, philosophical all of a sudden Any way my freq is still a little off, it has seemed to stop moving farther off but I haven’t decided what to do with it yet it works fine just have to have the fine clarifier to the left a bit. One reason you may have not noticed it Pat is I have the 6 digit going; most people seem to have it at only 5 so you don’t seethe drift, get my drift Any way, like I said no big deal. It is still my favorite and if it were alive would ask it to marry me. It’s not the prettiest thing ever but its close! It does talk back but there is an off button and a volume knob! Any way I am either making ever one sick or your all laughing either way, I have done my job! kg6sam-sam-SAM????? come on now bc, who did you pay to get that call-SAM? is that SAM as in sam lewis, as in rf limited as in magnum radios as in S9? sounds like a conspiracy to me! on ssb my s9 needs to be tuned to say 27.5549, than 8 than 7 as it warms up, on usb it only goes off to 5549-5550-5551 then it stabilizes. oh well, not worth the trouble to correct it, as i spend 90% of my time AM, it stays on freq fine. hey wait a second, i married my high school sweetheart....she was in high school, i wasn't, but that's a story for another day....and i have said numerous times the S9 is the BEST LOOKING CB ever made, and it works pretty darn good, too, have been on & off 26.835 AM w/my barefoot S9 and maco 5/8 talking to same several gents in houston area for the last 1 1/2 hours or so. i don't want to sound obnoxious, bc, but S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9S9 it is!!!!!! |
