I came across this antenna it is called the (Wolf Point 64 wave omni) and was wondering if anyone has tried it? Thanks |

Seems like an interesting company. Never seen them before. .64 Omni looks good, not sure about the matching coil claim though. Seems to be built well, would also love to hear from anybody who has one.
I like their prices thats for sure. |

Well lets see now the Wolf says .64 and the IMAX 2000 is also a .64 Antenna.
IMAX 2000 is tested and proven where Wolf is new and really untested.
Also the Wolf costs $75.01 MORE than the IMAX 2000.
If would be nice if the Owner would send Copper one so we could have Tech833 put it on his Professional Antenna Test Range and give us the Actual Facts.
But just the $75.01 difference in price range between it and the IMAX is a BIG STUMBLING BLOCK.
Also I did not like the fact that the Coax connector is sticking outside un-protected from the weather & elements and with the IMAX it is located inside the base of the antenna that offers it some protection from water and ice build up.
It would be nice to see a side by side comparison of use with the IMAX 2000.
Just my thoughts,

Lon, I thought I was the onlu on e who would object to the price. With all due respect, I just thought it was overpriced. B ut I have paid too muchbefore for an antenna.

Well if you compare THAT style of antenna to the only other similar built I-10K its a bargain!!
The beams that Wolf shows appear to be well priced. |

Actually Wolf has been around for at least 5 years, maybe more. I do agree that the Imax-2000 is probably the better value, although that Wolf .64 looks WELL built. |

thanks tech 808 i typed wolfpoint.64 . i would love 2 see a comparison between the imax and the wolfpoint sise by side. but then again id like 2 see how the imax holds up against what i call old faithful maco5/8 |

I have a wolf 1/2 wave dipole antenna for 11 meters mounted on the side of my tower and it does an excellent job. It is well built, was easy to put together, has a very low swr that does not change in the rain. It has good lightning protection(direct grounded), wide banded and I paid approx $100 bucks for it. The main advantage was I did not need to have another tower or push-up pole cluttering up my property. Very happy with it. |

I ordered one of these and will try to test it, if we do not get snow cover. I may not be able to test for a while if the weather turns bad. |

thanks gonzo we really appreciate you testing all of these antennas for us. antennas are very interesting to talk and learn about. we know the imax is good i have one myself. the imax is what i now use as a reference. i like all of my gain figures in dbi (gain over imax) , ha ha i couldn't resist keep up the good work.

Got word that this antenna is on its way, I will get it up as soon as I get a chane, probably in the next couple of weeks, if the weather holds. |

44 had a lacrosse game in southampton at 830am. we had just left diner after breakfast & were still mobiling in southampton when i jumped in there...one of these days we'll do it 1st hand without long distance assistance! |
