Wrk3,
Go to your SEARCH BROSWER on your Computer and Type in the words Uniden 200 XLT Modifications.
It will bring up many helpful sites with Modifications for this scanner.
I just did that but there are too many sites with Modifications & Tips for the Uniden 200 XLT to post links to in a post here.

I don't think you can turn your 200xlt into a trunk tracker.If you want to listen to a small trunked system you might be able to use the 200xlt by programming all the systems frequencies into one bank and scan that memory bank.You will not be following the talkgroups and might miss some of the action if another group is using the system at the same time |

You can do that with Motorola systems, you have to lockout the control channel, which sometimes changes on some systems, so you have to unlock the old one and lock out the new one when they change.
Eidacs systems by Ericsson put a 4 second delay after each transmission on a given freq, which means that by the time the radio resumes scanning, the reply has most likely already been missed.
If you want a nice trunktracker, try the BC245XLT-- it is an excellent little scanner, very sensitive, good intermod/pager rejection, and it follows Motorola and EDACS systems flawlessly. |

To convert a non-trunking scanner to a trunk tracker it usually takes a fair amount of equipment including a second scanner, a computer, and an interface to decode the trunking signals. Before Uniden came out with scanners capable of trunking this was the only way to trunk track.
You'll be far better off buying a new scanner with that capability built in already. And it'll be easier to carry. |
