Hey folks
Just wondering what the difference between the Turner RK56 and the Overdrive CDL-56 mike. They look the same to me ,is one better then the other?
and also is the Astastic 636 better then both of them? I am using a road devil right now and it seem to work good but it picks up alot of noise inside my truck

From my experience, the 636 has a little more noise cancelling. The RK-56 worked better for me with my setup. When I tested the two, I had the mike gain set at 3 0'clock for the 636, and gain set at 12 o'clock for the RK-56.
BUT, what is ..."where's the big radio"..with one voice may be.."it's workin radio check"...for another...
Unfortunately, the bottom line is what works better WITH YOUR VOICE, ON YOUR RADIO, IN YOUR CAB........

Hey, I use both the CDK-56 and the RK -56. Long story short, the RK is better for blocking real truck noise in an AM environement. It blocked my voice a little too much for me on "sideband" and made my heater relay click. The CDL 56 is a cheaper knock off of the RK-56 and not used by my tech who works on my radios as it is a little too sensitive, but that is just what I needed judging by the reports of others on sideband.

So on road trips, it is the RK-56. Around town every day with side band talk dominating, it is the CDL-56 in my truck in my conditions. And it ia half the price of Turner.

In my opinion you do not need an amplified microphone unless you are running a less powerful radio as better ones have all the power built in. Write me if I can be of more help.

Kindest regards

Chris

I use the overdrive 56k mic on my 95T and it fits the bill. Good sentivive mic yet blocks wind noises and gives me good reports.

The Turner is a great mic and I really can't hear a diff between the CDL. The Astatic does have WAY more noise canceling and some people think it takes away from your audio loudness. The key thing to do is to close talk the Astatic. If you press the Astatic against your lip it works great. Pull it away 1 inch and audio goes down the tubes.
