Well I have used this radio for about 2 months now and it is unreal. The best radio I have ever owned. everytime I key up somebody asks what kind of radio it is and tell me it is the loudest radio they have heard out there. The RX and Tx are both great, The only things I was not happy about were the internal echo controls and the lack of a rf gain knob, but once the echo is set I have no need to change it anyway . The ardio does drift a bit but after 15 mins. and a few key ups it is right on freq. On Am I am getting 60 watts and swinging over 100, ssb 200+, this radio is amazing, I use a wilson 5000 roof mount and a 636 chrome mic all mounted in a 2004 pete. I would recommend this radio to anyone .

Vtwinn, I also run a DX 95T & other than a couple of minor points, it's a exceptional radio. Mine is used as a home base unit with a Turner Expander mic & the results are phenomenal, although the stock mic is not far off the pace either. Mine dead keys at 50watts on AM and swings to 160!!! however on SSB when speaking normally I only see 80Watts peak - perhaps someone could shed some light on this phenomenon?? Now for the bad point/s, the hash noise on SSB worse than FM (possibly just my radio?? unless someone knows otherwise?) Drifting - a little maybe, so I turn the sixth digit off on the frequency counter, so in effect it's probably no worse than anything else during warm up? Other than that it's a peach, I've just ordered a Magnum S9 so it will be interesting to compare the two.

G-A-L-A-X-Y
that explains those flaws, animal. though not 100 watts, you'll be much happier with the S9's receive.

Animal,I am a 95 T owner and would very much like to read your opinion/comparison of the two radios. I don't know about your problem on SSB but I had trouble with people hearing me well that did not clear up until I bought a CDL-56 cheap noise blanking mic. I hear people do well with the Astatic's but they keep stopping production on the ones with tone control and you can always tell an Astatic on a powerful radio like the 95T. Like a ringing or slight bit of feedback/overmodulation. Remember, you have the power there so a sensitive noise blanking mic may do it. Looking forward to hearing how the S9 compares.
