Hello people, I just bought a Galaxy 800 Base amp. I cannot find any information on this amp on the net. Can anyone tell me any specs on this amp? Watts RMS? PEP? I know it has three 8975 tubes. One as a driver. I traded my Galaxy Saturn for it on Ebay. Did I get a good deal? I just want to shoot some good skip. I am hoping to see at least 800 watts. thanks

I had a Galaxy 500 a few years ago, nice looking amp, matched the Saturn radios well. They are strong for their size, kinda a hybrid with transistors and tubes. Real touchy with the input and in tuning and not very forgiving if you over drive them. That 500 would do 500 swing with a good radio, but abt 150 keyup was how I ran it. I sold it to a friend, he traded it to another guy that had heard it when I had it. I was listening to the guy the night he first got it, he was way over driving it, I told him, didn't do any good, he blew it that first night. After the repair bill he learned how to use it. I talked to someone in skipland not long ago that was running a Galaxy 1000, it was really stong, but you know how skip is. scrapiron
