1861 I have a kl400 worked great but we had a freak thunder storm go through and it took out my pre amp *ouch*. The meter I have I do not trust it would do on SSB 350 am I think it did 200 but again I don't really trust the meter. Right now it's in the shop for the work being done to it. I like the 6 levels on it if you want to run a little or alot it's your choice. Just my 2 cents. Len CEF#189 So,Minnesota |

1861, I have the pre-400 mobile version, the 351 Mod P. When new, I could see around 150 AM PEP, and near 200 SSB. This was with about a 3 watt deadkey. I was able to almost squeeze 200 AM once but that was driving it hard. These are great sounding amps on am & SSB but not designed to be driven like that. With a 2 - 2 1/2 watt deadkey, it shows around 125 PEP on AM now and around 160-170 SSB PEP. The swing of your radio will cause different results than mine so your results may vary. And of course which meter you use will cause differing results as well. Alsworld |
