All 5/8 wave CB base antennas I've ever seen have radials. The Imax 2000 is advertised to be a 5/8 wave but it doesn't have any radials.

What kind of desighn did they use to achieve this ?

I understand that the A-99 is a 1/2 wave antenna and 1/2 wave antennas do not require radials to function. And adding radials to a 1/2 wave antenna does nothing to it's performance.

So what did thet do to the Imax 2000 to make it a radial free 5/8 wave?
