i ordered a 99 from copper yesterday and was just wondering opinions on it..ive seen several reviews on the S-9,but since the galaxyhas already bennshipped i guess its to late..right now i have a cobra 29 on a TS400..the cobra is like 3w Dk and 22Swing..im just hoping the 99 will out preform the cobra..is the 99 a dual final radio? will it drive the TS better than the cobra? will it be louder w/ better modulation?

ihave a bear foot ranger 2950 in my work carfor DXing...and i amgoing to put the cobra in my wifes truck with a extrs TS 350 that i have...both trucks are backed up with a wilson 5000 trucker series.. just asking a few questions, ive been outof the cbing for a little while now,but still have all my eqiupment even the base stuff...im just looking to get back into it.

also if im not satisfied w/ the galaxy, would copperalowme to return it and buy another radio? all help is greatly appreciated!!

the 99 needs to be turned down to 3 watts dead key & it'll work with the texas star. as for whether it'll work better then the cobra with the texas star-hard to say, but just because the galaxy does more dead key doesn't mean the star'll take it!

Styer: The Galaxy 99 is a dual final radio. It will work great with the texas star. The 99 has variable power, make sure you turn it down to not over 3 watts deadkey, 2 watts may work even better. When you get it installed get a few radio checks and see what input wattage sounds best. I think you made a good choise, some people like galaxys and others magnums, and some like what they happen to own at the time. I've got both and like both.

I got to Galaxy's a 33 and 99, and both are great radios. I know you will like the 99.
