the 99 needs to be turned down to 3 watts dead key & it'll work with the texas star. as for whether it'll work better then the cobra with the texas star-hard to say, but just because the galaxy does more dead key doesn't mean the star'll take it! |

Styer: The Galaxy 99 is a dual final radio. It will work great with the texas star. The 99 has variable power, make sure you turn it down to not over 3 watts deadkey, 2 watts may work even better. When you get it installed get a few radio checks and see what input wattage sounds best. I think you made a good choise, some people like galaxys and others magnums, and some like what they happen to own at the time. I've got both and like both.
