i have a TS400v right now, with a cobra 29 DK 3 swings 17...with the 400 it runs about 280 watts which seems low...but i want more power and was looking at a TS667 and also the Xforce 600v...howmanyamps do each draw? can i run those amps with the factory alt. and battery? i would like to see around 500 watts..im hoping thats not asking to much...i ordered a Galaxy 99 from copper and it should be here sometime today...will the power change much by adding a modified galaxy? and if so by how much?

the dx667 requires less then 4 watts drive. could draw 55-75 amps, will key about 200+ & swing around 500, give or take.(the 400 you have should key around 150 & swing a little over 300)

the x force x400 or xt400 will work with your 99, again, only a 3 watt dead key. the x should get you 200 key & 750 swing, the xt 250 key & 900 swing. HOWEVER the x forces WILL draw more then the texas star, 75 or more for the x & maybe 90 or more for the xt. the xt will be a stretch for most any stock battery/alternator. the x-well that depends on what 'stock' is.
all 3 amps are '4 pill', the 667 & x using a single transistor to drive the 4. the xt uses 2 transistors to drive. if you were referring to an xforce x600, that is a straight '6 pill' amp, requiring 20 watts or so of dead key input, which the 99 will not provide. amp drain on your 'stock' syatem will be, TOO MUCH, to say the least.
as i posted elsewhere, your 400 requires 3 watts drive-ONLY. no matter what radio you put in front of it. swing watts may be more with the 99. but, maybe not. the 3 amps i advised also require 3 watts ONLY. just vary the 99 down to 3 watts.

my grant xl does the same with my davemade 5 pill, heavyweight. stock 117 amp alternator protests when i hammer it on sideband though! 1kw gets lots of bucking, if i back down radio mic gain to 650 or so watts pep everything is good.
