so...im having a problem with my 2950, cant run it in the truck because of vibration, so, im thinking of getting a mag 257, can you all give me the ups and down of this radio along with personal experiance as to how they perform in high vibration environments, also any other suggestions as to what radio to use in such a situation, SSB is a must, Dual final is a must, and the ability to broadband is a must...so, export I guess ~Goat |

Well, they are a mobile radio by design. I had no problem running mine off road in my Jeep for a while. They are a superior choice for one reason (other than cost) -the memory channels store mode as well as frequency. Mem 1 = 19 AM Mem 2 = 38 LSB Mem 3 = 27,455 USB etc..... |

Love it!!! Mobile in a street/drag truck with stiff suspension; No problems, takes 10 minutes in the coldest of Illinois weather (before you WANT to get in) good to go. Hook it up in the house for a day or two, learn the buttons, and if you don't want to "freeband" lock it for straight 40. Great radio!!! Chad |

There are two types of people in this World. Those who have Magnum 257 radios. Those who need Magnum 257 radios. john-harbaugh@earthlink.net "CrackerJack" CEF-358 |
