It's about voltage drop, the smaller the wire the more voltage drop per foot. The 10Ga is short, your longer part will be heavier. |

i figured it would also be about draw, the 80-100 amp draw on 10ga wire is alot..the bigger the wire the less heat and better flow...so why not install a 4ga. wire in the amp itself? |

Styer, I run 8 gauge wire from Battery to the inside of the vehicle then connect it to the 10 gauge wire from the Amp with a W90-30014 TP-8 Quick Disconnect For Mobile Amplifiers and Radios. TP-8 Quick Disconnect Never had a problem as yet when running the KL-300 or KL-500. As for your Question: (if i order a texas star 667 from copper, can they remove the 10ga wire and install 4 or 8ga coming out of it?) Sorry but No! Copper will not perform any type modifications that would Void the Copper or Factory Warranty of any product. As for aligning and strapping the pills I can't say as I have never done it or found any reason to do it. If the Amp does not have the output power I want from the factory I just get a bigger amp. I just figure the Manufacturer knew what they were doing when they designed and built it so there should be no need for me to mess with it. Just my personal opinion, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
