Hi, I've been out of CB for a while but since some of my friends are still in it I thought i'd buy me a base setup and decided to order the galaxy DX2547 with in a week or so but seeing they don't make D104's anymore, which desk mic is best these days? I saw one, looks kind of like the d104 but shorter and liked it, is that oen any good, any suggestions? I just don't like hand mics on my base. |

Jemracing, Welcome to the Copper Forum! The shorter Mic you are talking about I think is the SuperStar Silver Salute Base Mic. Yes it is a Good Desk Mic and very well made. For more information on the SuperStar Silver Salute Base Mic Check out the Review I did on it by Clicking on the link below. SuperStar Silver Salute Base Mic Also if you can wait just a little while longer maybe a month or so there will be a Desk Microphone Coming out. This new Desk Microphone will ROCK the Radio Market and is a Very Impressive and High Quality Desk Microphone. It is being re-designed exclusively for Copper Electronics Inc, to operate on all CBs, Export Radios and Ham Radio Equipment. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN PS, When you get a chance check out Our CEF Radio Club under the topic in the Open Area of the Forum titled: CEF / Copper Electronics Forum RADIO CLUB WANT TO JOIN |

Hmmmmm, maybe I'll just run the stock mic until that mic comes out and we can check that out when it comes out, thanks for the info. BTW, that is the mic I was looking at, I had just got up and couldn't remember what it was called. I wish I kept my old D104. |

The Actual testing is completed now and several minor changes (wiring) will be made before production can begin. We want the Desk Microphones to be able to function/operate with All of the Magnun, Ranger, Uniden HR2510 & Lincoln Radios with UP/DN Controls and EVERY CB/Export Radio. with a 4 / 5 or 6 Pin Microphone Connection via Microphone Jumpers from the Mic to the Radio. The Desk Microphones will allow you to have it connected to 2 different radios at the same time. As soon as I have more information from the Forummaster on when the FIRST BATCH Arrives and is ready to ship I will get it posted for everyone. The Forummaster is also very Anxious as they will make GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Sinker, Yes, there are Plans for the Same Mic for HAM RADIO ONLY Applications and the First Batch for the Radios I listed above. And then maybe even a 3rd Lower Priced version without the UP/DN Buttons / Controls for those who do not need or want or will need all of the Features . Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Harve, When they arrive you will need to state which Radio or Radios you need a Jumper or Jumpers for when placing your order. The Microphones will have 2 ~ Chassis Mount (male), TYPE "CMC" OUTPUT Connectors mounted on the Microphone that you will need to use a Jumper / Jumpers to connect from the Microphone to your Radio / Radios. The Jumper will have a FEMALE 8 Pin Connector on the Microphone End of the Jumper and the Other End will have a FEMALE end wired for the Radio that you Specify when you place your order. For More Information on the Mics go to the Ask the Tech Area: Ask The Tech » Microphone Questions » Does the NEW Compression Desk Mic Come Out This Month Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
