I JUST GOT THE COBRA 200 I ORDERED FOR MY SON . I GET TO PLAY WITH IT THIS WEEKEND , I WILL BE COMPARING IT TO MY OMEGA HOPE TO MAKE SOME CONTACTS |

WELL , I HAVEN,T HAD ANY SKIP SINCE I HOOKED IT UP , BUT IT DOES HAVE THE POWER . HE CAN THROW THAT STOCK MIC AWAY THOUGH ! TRIED IT , ON LOW DK 1 SWING TO 11 . ON HIGH , DK 65 SWING 90 . VERY DISAPPOINTED - PUT A DM-452 ON , LOW SWING TO 40 , HIGH SWING ABOUT 130 . 145 SSB . THEY FAILED TO PUT MOUNTING HARDWARE AND MIC HOLDER IN BOX , HOPE TO HEAR FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE MONDAY . RECEIVE ISN,T NEARLY AS GOOD AS MY OMEGA . FREQUENCY TOTALLY STABLE . HAS NOT CHANGED FROM WHAT IT WAS WHEN I FIRST HOOKED IT UP AND TURNED IT ON ABOUT 5 HOURS AGO . |

I have the mic gain all the way up, and the echo set around 9 o'clock. I have had nothing but good reports with it set that way. I am using the stock mic to bbot. |

well , I wouldn,t trade my OMEGA for one , but is a nice radio . I don,t think anyone who wants one will be disappointed in it . As for the receive , it,s very good , just doesn,t have that nice sound and quitness of a MAGNUM . It does have remarkable power , and everyone I HAVE TALKED TO SAYS IT SOUNDS GREAT ON THEIR END . DON,T LIKE THE FEATURES AS WELL AS OMEGA .ALL IN ALL I SAY IT IS A VERY GOOD RADIO AND I THINK MY SON WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH IT . AS FOR ME , I AM STICKING WITH MY OMEGA . I WILL SAY THIS ( ALL THE BAD I HAVE HEARD ABOUT IT JUST DOESN,T HOLD UP ) JUST MY OBSERVATIONS FROM USING IT A COUPLE DAYS |

So you can get more watts out of it by changing the mic? i thought mics could only give you more audio and modulation. not more output watts. correct me if im wrong.
I plan on buying this radio anyway. dont have the money for a S9 plus a firend of mine just got one so i dont need to be like him. Im a cobra fan. i have a cobra 18WXST now, and a cobra power mic, and cobra noise cancling ($40 each) these mics should work ok with the 200 right? |

I got a question for you how low and how high does that radio go on the channels?is the clarifier unlocked for sideband?thanks |

After the Channel Modification the Cobra 150GTL-DX and 200 GTL-DX it will cover from 26.065 thru 29.695

I would imagine the clarifier works like any other export radio with SSB. The only radios that would not have an unlocked clarifier are the non export fcc type accepted 40 channel SSB CBs. Such as cobra 148, galaxy 959, ect ect. |
