about a year ago i work on a tr-296 for a friend of mine (unlock the clar* tune up and improvement mods for ssb clarity) and i was thinking the whole time i was working on it, man, this is a nice radio. I went back to where i told him to buy his and they where out, he had bought the last one and they were discontinued...so i thought i was out of luck...well, he sold the radio to some guy, who it turns out i go to church with. anyway, he got out of radio and wanted a scanner so i traded him a bc-350c for the 296...it was a scanner i had laying around and not using...heck, it wasent even in-line, just sitting up on the shelf...after operating this radio for the afternoon here today, it's awsome...this thing is jam up thinking of putting a Turner SSK on it and getting a small amp to throw behind it. |
