Both are very good radios. I would go with the S-6 personally. Better not go to small with either radio. Use a 4 pill amp!

Yeah short QSOs and low swing from the radio the amp will do its best to survive. A dual final radio doing what it should and a long conversation should make a 2 pill nice and toasty and start getting that pop and crackle sound in your audio as heat builds up. Give 'em time. Anyone else smell smoke?

Sam Lewis recommends a 4 pill such as the Texas Star DX500V for the Magnum radios like the S-6 and S-9. Its a very good CB amp.Got a wallet full of cash? If so then go DaveMade, try the M400.

in my opinion, the general lee seems to be a good amp radio.my neighbor has an s-6 on a fatboy 2x4 and sounds a little noisy.i put my general in his truck and it sounds crystal clear on the other end.i dont know if his radio was not set up properly or he has an antennea issue.
