Well after testing the
MAGNUM S-6-80
all I can say is WOW!

Last weekend Dennis/Tech291 was also here and he helped with some testing and checking everything out with me.

Straight out of the box it Does do the Advertised 80 Watts with NO Peaking or Tweaking.

We also seen Peaks of 90+ watts.

This is not just a MAGNUM S-6 radio that has had the SRF-2030 Mosfet Finals added to it, but it has been Re-Designed with boards added inside as well as many other components and added features to compliment the ERF-2030 Mosfet POWER!

And it is the LOUDEST 100% Stock Radio I have personal ever heard even with the Mic Gain set at 7 o clock.

The one thing I can say for sure is MAGNUM is a BIG WINNER with the

S-3-80 / S-6-80 and S-9-80
Radios and makes them the BIG DOG ON THE BLOCK.

Now I can't wait until the MAGNUM 175 watt models come out and make them the KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!

Stay tuned for the REVIEW on the MAGNUM S-6-80 Radio by Myself and Tech291 which should be posted later this month.

I got some 175w cash just waiting to be spent also. I am curious about the 80w versions and do they swing 80 from a 1w dk with TG on?

Big_I,

YES, it will swing 80+ watts right out of the box with the Top Gun Modulator On or Off and no peaking or tweaking.

Im4jc,

ON or OFF means YES

It will Swing 80+ watts with the Top Gunn ON

and

It will swing 80+ watts with the Top Gun OFF

by adjusting the PWR Control Knob on the front of the radio.

Hope this helps,

the dx1600 will take 40 key & 150+ PEP, so the S9-80 & dx1200 should do 200/700 or a custom 6x2879 should do 300/1200....but i'm waiting for S9-175, my 8 pill davemade has already been dusted & polished

I don't need an amp to use with one, because if it has that kind output, it will get out. My 257 works just fine so the S6-80 and S9-80 SHOULD BLOW SMOKE.

MAGNUM RULES!!! Way to go Sam!!!!

I like my Galaxy DX 95T and my Magnun S-45. The big pluses for the 95T are the big s-unit meter and the loud and I mean loud modulation and power. Other than that, the Magnum is superior in every other way. Who knows, I may end up with one of those high powered S-9's but I wish it had memory and scan...

Capt_hook,

Sorry but I will not know what the price will be until Sam gets them in and sets the price and then ships them out to Copper Electronics.

As soon as Copper Electronics has them in stock, I will make a post with the price for everyone.

Probably somewhere around 400 chicken nuggets or 400 Jr bacon cheeseburgers.

I too am waiting on this 80 watt marvel. And then somebody has to blurt out 175 watts.

Now I'll have two choices, either ditch the Dave and get a bigger one OR ditch the Dave and just run the radio.

That'll throw a wrench all in my coax works. Thanks Sam.

Isn't it lovely...I was going to ask when it would be out and looked around and found this post...makes me sick. My wife is going to kill me or throw me out.

Anybody here got a spare room and a place for me to park my truck?

Porkchop, bring your gear over to my place. My garage is my shop in the making and could use some more stuff. Also I have a private fridge, microwave and cable tv. I have a 21 year old sister so that means we would have lots of young SINGLE females over all the time. Don't touch my sister! Oh you can park the truck on my neighbor ohh I mean on the neighbors front lawn!

I e-mailed Sam 2 days ago about the new 150-200watt magnums. He e-mailed back that they will be out sometime in may/june. I didn't get a price on the new radios. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
