i was thinking of getting the S9 for my new base radio, but in the intrest of funds, i may switch to the 257, what kind of wattage should we see from the new 257's and is the S9 really that much better than the 257. i run a blue 257 in the truck and am VERY pleased with it. sure the S9 looks better but does it really perform better enuf to spend the extra dough. looks asisde, id rather pay less for something thats not so flashy, however, if the S9 is way better than the 257, better enuf to cost 200 more (which i doubt, paying for creature features i imagine). |

If you want a Great Radio with all the BELLS and WHISTLES and LIGHTS and NOISE TOYS and Controls/Knobs then the  S-9-80 will fit the bill with 80 watts out of the box.
BUT! If you just want a GREAT RADIO then the MAGNUM 257 will do EVERYTHING the S-9 will but without all the Bells and Whistles and other stuff. 
NOTE!
I do not know what the power output will be on the Magnum 257 as I have not seen or reviewed one yet.
