Can anyone make a recommendation for a good, fairly inexpensive peak reading watt meter that I can use for a mobile application. I want to keep it inline permanently. I would also like to buy it from Copper to give back a little for all the help I've gotten here :-) That is if they have a good one that some of you here have used and like.

Maybe the Workman SWR-1000 Watt Meter?

The Synchron RMS meter is compact, and it gets the job done, and that's if copper still carries it. It's not a peak reading meter though.

Hmmm. How about that RatShack meter that reads RMS and PEP? Is it accurate enough to at least set my deadkey properly for an amp and get close on PEP?

i like my palstar wm150m because of the remote sending unit. barrel connector from the sender to back of amp eliminates a jumper from the back of the truck to the front & then the coax to the antenna is 10' shorter. autek wm1 had too short of a lead from the sender to reach. not sure if a longer 1 is available or if it can be lengthened, i never looked into that.

you don't really need LOW power accuracy to set the amp. i just explained in another post, set the radio LOW & with amp on FULL, adjust radio to wherever you would like the amp's output.
