Thanks Lon, Looks like I better stick with the good ol Texas Star500V. I could get the 1000p but I bet it would hardly do half its rated power with the drive of the 4800. Again thank you sir for the reply.

Whoooooohhh! Connex has almost 40 watts of swing! I don't think the klv can handle much over 10 watts. Suppose maybe I could turn it down and run mic gain low but I'm not taking any chances.

the specs posted for the klv1000p :you need 60 WATTS to drive that one.don't get it confused with the klv 1000 which is a four tube with a 1 tube driver bulit in the box.the klv 1000p does'nt have a 60 to hundred watt driver tube they are DIFFERENT BOX!!! 505

Why are the KLV-1000 and KLV-1000P the same price ?

The KLV-1000P should be $29.95 cheaper, since it is short one tube. :-)

Maybe they are selling them by the watt?

If that is the case, then maybe the KLV-1000P should be $100 cheaper, since each tube pushes close to 100 watts lol.

Or do you mean by how much the amp pushes.
If so, then the KL-1000P is more expensive, because you need to buy a driver for it..... I would rather pay for the KL-1000,it has a driver in it and only cost $29.95 if needed to be replaced.

I would prefer the 4 tube model. That way I never have to worry if I'm over driving it. Thats a problem some people do. Around my town are some guys who think they have to drive amps with other amps even if they was working perfect before. They won't listen. A DX250 into a DX400????? Oh well! Someday they will learn. If they knew I was running my DX500 with a 2 watt deadkey and an 8 watt swing they would cry!
