I would like to run a RCI 2970 and TS sweet 16.Can anyone tell me if this would be a good mix? Will the Ranger drive the sweet 16 to its max or would it be over board.I was also considering the S9 radio. But Iam not sure if it would be enough to drive the amp.
Thanks for any help or advice

the dx1600 will handle your 2970 just fine. it'll take 30-40 watts dead key & 150-175 PEP input. you'll get out around 300 key & 1000 PEP, give or take. you will need sufficient current from the power source/car charge system to maintain those #'s. the radio & amp together draw around 160 amps, again give or take. i used a dx1600 in a blazer (full size) with a custom built 105 amp alt & 3 or more batteries & saw those #'s, with the engine revving & some voltage drop...but it worked.

the 80 watt S9 will PROBABLY get you 1/2 output, the original S9, 50 key & 200 PEP-but i've seen it do more, though i wouldn't expect it. the 175 watt S9 will also be able to run it fully.
