the dx1600 will handle your 2970 just fine. it'll take 30-40 watts dead key & 150-175 PEP input. you'll get out around 300 key & 1000 PEP, give or take. you will need sufficient current from the power source/car charge system to maintain those #'s. the radio & amp together draw around 160 amps, again give or take. i used a dx1600 in a blazer (full size) with a custom built 105 amp alt & 3 or more batteries & saw those #'s, with the engine revving & some voltage drop...but it worked. the 80 watt S9 will PROBABLY get you 1/2 output, the original S9, 50 key & 200 PEP-but i've seen it do more, though i wouldn't expect it. the 175 watt S9 will also be able to run it fully. |
