--Hi, all. Maybe I missed the announcement, but I was just perusing the 10 meter radios earlier, and noticed that Copper Electronics is now handling the Mini Magnum 30! Everybody, if you are looking for a super-simple, broadbanded radio with a bit of "kick", I recommend this little rig. Mine is converted from 25.165-29.655, so yeah, it has plenty of channels (400 to be exact). My Mini Magnum 30 is in my 1999 Honda Accord, conveniently located beneath the stereo. It will "dead key" 3 watts and PEP to 30 watts, no problemo! |

I heard the audio is weak on these even though the RF power and channels are great. Is their a mod to increase audio? I have to admit it's size makes it appealing but it has to have good audio output! |

Thanks Lon Tech 808, My question was from reading another post on this site someplace. Some other people had said that the audio was not even as strong as what you would expect from a Uniden 510. This had me a bit concerned because even though I would prefer a SSB radio the size of this little unit makes it appealing for my application. Has anyone tried hooking up an audio compression unit like the one CBC Int. sells or the old SP1a etc... to this little radio? I have a spare SP1a just sitting around. If I get this radio and can fit it in the case it might just end up with an SP1a inside! |
