I have had a few of those. When tuned up, they SCREAM! And they swing loads of power. A nice radio, and if you add a freq counter, your'll be as good as anything out there. But that's just this old CBer's humble opinion. Happy DXing! BTW - the answer is YES. Take the radio! |

I got the radio today and there was no mike.I'll se if radio shack sells one that will work. The original owmer says the radio peeks out at 40 watts and he has talked all over the USA and into Europe with it! |

My Jackson's all had four pin mic plugs. Same as a Uniden radio. So finding a mic should be way easy. You should love that radio. Let us know how she works, and Happy DXing to you! |

I bought a Turner RK-56 from a local and have been getting good reports.I talked to one guy who also ran a Jackson, his has a black face and mine has a silver face. Is there any diffrance in the two? ps Sodapop, so far I do love the radio and have shot a little skip with her. |

I have had both kinds of faces. I like the black one the best. I feel the Grant should have the silver face. But I can't recall any real difference in the two radios. Now I am not the final word on this topic, I am sure someone out there has something to add. But that's my two cents! *G* So what freqs do you hang on Terminator? |

I hear that, the attic is where I do most DXing myself. Mind you I don't do it everyday. That reminds me of a contact I had a few years ago. I was hanging on 40 AM. Just me and my best friend, Crispy One. It was dead quite that night. Just then some guy keyed up and asked us for a radio check. We said he was strong and loud. He asked if we could give directions. After we tried to help, but had no clue as to where he was, we asked him where in Maine was he? His answer was: " Maine, you guys are in Maine? Well that might explain why you have no clue as to where I might be, down here in Kentucky! " *** Mind you, I think it was kentucky, been a few years, so I might be off. But he was down south! *** But he sounded just like a local. And there was no skip on the freq at all. Just right out of the blue. Funny how sometimes that happens. All depends on where your bouncing the RF signal I guess!

These were great radio's for their time and were well built. Their are plenty of modifications especialy from people that used them in the UK illegaly. They usualy do putout 35-40 watts with ease. You do not have to be a tech to get them to put out. For a single final radio they are impresive. They also had good audio all the way around. |
