Can get a much better antenna for what it costs. Probably good for a few miles of good range. Would not even bother running anymore than a barefoot radio. Its so small running an amp would be useless. just my 2 cents

Waterboy,

Yes we have used the Wilson Short Load whip for several years now on our F-150 4x4 Super Crew which is TALL anyway and it works great!

We have used the Wilson Short Load Adapter with our Wilson 1000 antenna's and had a SWR of 1.1 on 13 to a max of 1.3 on 40.

While we have not ran 500 watts through ours it has handled the KL-450 with no problem's.

Since it is only rated at 500 watts I would not recommend it.

Hope this help's,

Lon
