I own a couple Jacksons. They are great SSB rigs. They do OK on AM but you don't have the super loud audio. With a decent power mic your audio will be more than acceptable. These are my alltime favorite export rig and I feel the are very underated here in the states.N8xfj hit the nail on the head, as long as it hasn't been in the hands of a wannbe tech you should have a winner 73 Carmen Ps The President Jackson has been manufactured for over 20 years, I think that speaks for itself. |

i also like the jackson radios. they are low level modulated on AM like the HR2510, so they're not going to blow anyone's doors off, but with a few mods, they are great radios. yes, lots of them have been fiddled with. some by me! matt |

I thought that the audio circuit could be redone with higher output transistors that have better signal to noise ratio and more gain?Like the HR 2510 and Lioncoln. If my memorie is right you can add a power mic to these even after the audio mods are done and they sound really nice. When I got my President Lincoln about 6-7 years ago I read every modification for every President Radio ever made. Look into this it might prove worth your while. My Lincoln has just about every mod that can be done other then the chip switch. My audio Rock's. I followed Rodgerbirds mods to the letter. |
