Johnbrowning, A Ranger SS-158EDX should be on it's way to me. Figure 10 to 14 days or sooner as time allows after I receive it before I will be able to finish the REVIEW, get it typed up and posted for everyone in the Subscriber Preview area of the Copper Forum. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

Really interested in this radio, just wondering if anyone has had a chance to try one out. How is the output, audio (loud)? I like the fact that Ranger is giving a two year warranty on the radio. |

Hi Lon: I've been watching this radio for about 3 months, ever since I fist saw it offered for sale. I'm sure looking forward to your review. Could you tell me the tx/rx frequency range? I seem to think it's about 24mhz to around 29mhz. Thanks for your help Lon. bert |

So this radio doesn't go below channel 1 then, right? To me that's fine, I never go below one, but a few folks do. But, I really like that radio. I should have one, maybe Santa can drop one off to me! |

Thanks Lon: For some reason I thought it was similar to a Connex 4800DX and also covered 12 metres. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Bert |

Aloha Lon, I'm seriously considering picking up this radio. I just read your review! Can you tell me what were the swing numbers you were seeing on AM and SSB out of the box and what you were seeing after a tune? I would really like to pick up one of these as it really is the complete package at a sweet price. OH - any problems with drift on SSB? Need to warm up like the galaxies? Mahalo. Brew |

Hi Lon: I've read your review of this radio and have read the comments and have asked my own question. Thanks for the review and thanks for answering my previous question. This should be obvious to me by now, but I'm still not sure as I've read conflicting info. here. So, please bare with me when I ask one more time. Does the radio, after conversion, cover the 12 metre band as well (24.930-24.990 mhz} as 10 and 11? This would be ideal for me and make me buy it right away. Thanks, bert |
