Capt_hook, No I do not remember reading or hearing of anyone posting anything about the problems you mentioned that has ordered Texas Ranger 696F SSB Base Radio from Copper Electronics. We LOVE our Texas Ranger 696F SSB Base Radio with the JCD-201 desk mic which I use and Shirley uses the SILVER SALUTE desk mic. Great Radio & NEVER had any drifting or any other problem's with it Use the Search feature under Utilities and type in: 696F Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

I have one and no problems at all except one LED segment burned out on the frequency counter. So 27.165 looks like 27.155 lol |

Lon or Shirley, I'm considering purchasing a TR696F base from Copper, and having them do the align and tune. I'm also considering purchasing the KLV-200 base amp to run with it. My question is if I purchase them at the same time can the copper tech's tune them to work in conjunction with each other?? And not wanting to go with any extreme amps do you think this would make a good combo?? Tommy~852~CEF 750 Do They Make Anything Besides "GALAXY"?

Tommy, Yes when you call: 1-800-626-6343 to place your order ASK for Suzanne in Customer Service. Then tell her you would like the Copper Tech to match your radio to the amp when he does the tune up option. And YES it will make a good combo for you. Tech 808 how is your TR696F base as far as drift? With my Galaxy DX2547 i'm constantly having to adjust the clarifier.Does the single clarifier seem to work good on the TR base?? Tommy~852~CEF 750 Do They Make Anything Besides "GALAXY"?

852, We have never had any drift at all as it has always been 100% dead on to the frequency display. And we have never had a problem with the single clarifier or seen the need for a dual clarifier on our 696F SSB Base.
