Thoughts on this base??? I like it. Has worked flawlessly for one year now. Only IF/AF, rejection kit, M-80 and rear fan installed. Does a very conservative 180 watt PEP on am. Never gets hot!!! I guess I'm lucky. |

Good Base Radio. Like the Galaxy Saturn Turbo, & Ranger 2990 Corncob/CEF# 166 has one and uses it every sunday for the CEF Radio Club Nets. Lon Tech808 CEF#808/HAM#33 CVC#002 N9CEF

Have these radios changed? The ones I had were like a Saturn/2980/2517 with a built in amp.Overall it was a good radio and in hindsight I should have kept one. |

The Stonewall Jackson uses the EPT3600 board. The Saturn Turbo and the 2990 use the EPT2950 board. How can you say they are the same radio? You need to take another look, Lon. |

To put it another way, if the Stonewall Jackson is the same radio as the Saturn Turbo, then the RCI 2970 is the same radio as the RCi 6900-F150 Turbo. But that is obviously NOT the case, in both instances. |
