Both radios are manufactured by RCI/Ranger.

Only difference is the model name and the little rebel flag on the General Lee and the location of the brand names and the color of the LED channel display.

The General Lee has a +10KHz switch on it also

I have not had a connex but if it is as good as my general lee it is darn good, lound clear, and 50 watts, mine has hung in a peterbilt that is off road and has taken a beating in the gas and oil fields of ky, no problems.
