I can't find it for the life of me. Alos, is it a disc cap? Electrolytic? Green? Thanks.

James, On the 148 Malasia it is just above vr11 to the right...a small ceramic disc...Hope this helps:-)

c31 is a disc cap. look at the back of the radio, nearly center, you'll see a square coil, L35, it is right next to it.

remember that website i told you to go to for that info.....

These radios are amoungst the best out there as I'm sure all that have owned one would agree!! I now have 2 Grants (lt&xl)phillipino and the 148 Malaysian born and love em:-)

I'm not changing it per se. I am putting a built in receive preamp in one of my 148's, and I needed to take that cap out and put it on a switch so I could switch back and forth between the preamp on and off.

I have other mods to do to the radio before I can fully see how good it is. Preleminary testing so far shows it to be good.
