i have a nice radio i am happy with, rci 2990 from 1998. lately, i find myself wanting another cb for no definite reason. i collect vintage hi-fi eqpt for a few years now, i have some great stuff, id like to colect a few fine radios, ive seen dakmark x, browning, sbe, yaesu, siltronix, stoners. they all look awesome. seems the rarest one is the stoner? anyways, i was hoping to hear comments from people who own these radios to state the strong points, why they think which radio is the best and why. any info appreciated. thanks, 209

209, I own one of the few stoner pro40's made the s/n 704 and is a great radio, came with clairifier opened. They came with a D104 plus you could buy the console pieces such as a scope,80 meter add on,external speaker. A output voltage on the rear to control a auto swr tuner. Also had a 1011D Siltronix for awhile the siltronix though a tube radio if you left it on it would settle out they were known to drift until they warmed up. I do think the Siltronix had the most power of them you mentioned mine did 300 pep on sideband. I had a Dak am only rig for a while it was ok I'd rather had the am/ssb rig. I had a conversion paper on them to increase power to 80 watts. There you have it :-)
